Understandings
The goal is for students to understand various types of art making, make connections to art history, develop an artistic vocabulary, and appreciate art through engaging in critique. Students will also hone or develop skills using a variety of mediums such as drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and digital art.
Art Making
- Cultural significance - why people make art. How art is an expressive and creative outlet. - Development of skills.

Art History
Connecting art making and techniques to past and present art movements and artists.
Critique & Response
The ability to convey their thoughts and expressions of their artwork while developing vocabulary.
